Pixel pitch (also known as ‘dot pitch’) is a measurement of pixel density. Pixel pitch is important in determining the sharpness of a monitor based on viewing distance and monitor size. Do you know the difference in pixel pitch of LED walls?
The smaller the pixel pitch, the denser the pixels (higher pixel density). The higher the pixel density, the higher the display resolution (number of pixels) in a given area. Therefore, the smaller the pixel pitch, the better.
How to choose the right pixel pitch?
There are two main factors that need to be considered when choosing the pixel pitch or an LED video wall: screen size and viewing distance.
Screen size: As shown above, the larger the pixel pitch, the larger the video wall size will be in order to achieve adequate resolution.
Viewing distance: Closer viewing distances require lower pixel spacing. Boards with higher spacing are usually larger in size and designed for longer viewing distances.
